December 10, 2025
Good day everyone,
As we begin to close out 2025, the Massachusetts Latino Police Officers Association (MLPO) would like to remind our members and supporters of the exciting initiatives we have lined up for 2026.
First, our strong partnership with Calibre Press continues. We have trainings scheduled for January, March, and June, and all sessions are free for MLPO members. These trainings were created with our professional development in mind—bringing some of the best instructors in the industry to strengthen our skills, leadership, and service to our communities. In our profession, learning is a lifelong commitment, and MLPO is proud to support that mission. Please visit our main event calendar for full training details and registration information.
We are also thrilled to kick off the year with our first Winter Social and Fundraiser on January 17 at Copper House Tavern in Waltham. The ticket deadline is January 12, and tickets can be purchased online at 2026 Winter Social/Fundraiser – Massachusetts Latino Police Officers Association. We look forward to an evening of great company, a delicious meal, a cash bar, music by DJ Papi, networking, a 50/50, raffles, and a chance to win a door prize. Your participation directly supports the growth and sustainability of our Association and its ongoing projects.
As we prepare for an impactful year ahead, we kindly remind everyone to renew or maintain your membership to ensure it remains up to date. Your membership is essential—it supports our mission, strengthens our voice, and provides access to exclusive opportunities such as free trainings, events, and leadership involvement.
We also want to remind everyone that Executive Board positions remain open, and we strongly encourage members to step forward. Your ideas, experience, and leadership are vital. There is no greater reward than giving back and helping to guide the next generation. We cannot ask for change if we are not willing to be part of the work. Progress requires a village—and we need that village now more than ever.
Please stay informed and reach out to us at info@masslatinopolice.org if you are interested in getting involved. Your voice matters. Your involvement matters. You are a role model, an inspiration, and a crucial part of our mission. Help us continue to grow by supporting our events, renewing your membership, spreading the word about MLPO, volunteering, making a donation, and serving as a liaison within your community. The power to create meaningful change is in our hands—but we cannot do it alone. We need all hands in.
As the current President, I am incredibly proud of the work that has been accomplished and the recognition MLPO has earned. But our job is far from finished. There are many more Latinos, Hispanics, and Mestizos across the Commonwealth we have yet to reach. So I ask you—show up, get involved, and help strengthen our collective presence. Your participation truly makes a difference.
I look forward to hearing from you at yessenia@masslatinopolice.org. Let me know how you want to help and how we can continue elevating MLPO together.
Sincerely,
Yessenia Gomez
President, Massachusetts Latino Police Officers Association
